Message - Warning! You are logged in using the reseller or root password.

I. Warning Received by Reseller or Root Owner.

1. When Reseller or Root Owner Accesses cPanel through WHM

When the reseller or root owner logs into WHM and attempts to access a cPanel using the blue cP icon in the List Accounts tool, the reseller or root user will receive the warning message: "You are logged in using the root or reseller password." This message is normal and simply serves as a notice to the reseller or root owner; however, there are other instances when this warning message requires attention.

2. When Reseller or Root Owner Attempts to Access a cPanel User's phpMyAdmin

If the reseller or root owner tries to access phpMyAdmin in a client's cPanel, a warning message will appear. The reseller or root owner is not allowed access to those specific cPanel tools and is therefore restricted further access.

To gain access to these tools, the reseller or root owner will need to log into the client's cPanel directly with the actual cPanel username and password.

II. Warning Received by cPanel User

1. When cPanel User and Reseller or Root Owner Have the Same Password

If a cPanel user on a resold account receives the message "You are logged in using the root or reseller password," then the client's password is the same as the reseller or root owner's password.

To resolve this issue, please change your reseller WHM password to a unique password.
